Wyman and Watts wow the crowd

Bill Wyman and his Rhythm Kings were at the Roadhouse, Covent Garden as they continued their Jazz Tour, while Charlie Watts played with his jazz band at Ronnie Scott’s.

Wyman’s jazz fits the Bill

Old rockers never die, especially the wealthier ones. Cocky to the last, they tend to reappear as jazzers, leading groups packed with the flashy sort of players they wanted to be when they grew up.

Wyman still brings the rhythm

We’re a good, versatile band with plenty of singers who can cover the range of music we grew up with. Until Bill put this together we’d never played as a group, only in bits and pieces. Albert Lee I first played with at the Flamingo in 1962 and Bill I met in Earl’s Court when the Stones played the Flamingo in 1963 and nobody came.

Wyman gets stroppy at Hear’Say

Normally when a pensioner moans about young people and their dreadful music, nobody pays any attention. But when that oldie is Bill Wyman it might be a good idea to listen. The former Rolling Stone, who will be old enough to claim his bus pass this year, has denounced manufactured bands as "having nothing to do with real music".

from the forthcoming album Groovin’ this April 3rd.

Monday, April 3rd sees the release of former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman and his band The Rhythm Kings’ single Groovin’ on their new record label Papillon. Originally recorded by the Young Rascals, Bill Wyman’s version of this classic features performances by some of the UK’s most legendary musicians, Georgie Fame, Ray Cooper, Graham Broad, Martin Taylor and the silky vocals of Beverley Skeete.Groovin’ the single will be available on Papillon Records (BT FLY 0003) from Monday, April 3rd.
Groovin’ the album will be available on Papillon Records (BT FLY CD 0003) from Monday, May 8th.
